According to DownDetector, the first outbreak of complaints began after 8pm on July 5 and peaked around 11pm, when more than 1,200 users reported experiencing problems on Instagram. By SAM 6 July, the situation seemed to be getting better, but new reports mounted that it was not resolved.
Netizens went on Twitter, voicing their concerns about not being able to access the social media platform.

However, unlike previous disruptions, the app was not available to all Instagram users. Some reports claim that some users were able to use the platform during the disruption. These users can access their accounts and use all aspects of the platform, including refreshing their feeds and opening new profiles.
Instagram has not yet acknowledged the problem and no official statement has been issued.
