It is learned that the new Income Tax e-filing portal www.incometax.gov.in was launched on June 7, 2021. Since launch, the portal has been experiencing technical glitches for several weeks that have caused taxpayers and professionals to have difficulty filing returns. Or doing other activities. The e-filing portal recently celebrated its first launch anniversary and many users have complained that the portal has problems with search functionality.

Informing about the same, the Income Tax Department tweeted, “We have noticed a problem with the search effectiveness of the e-filing website. The Income Tax Department has seized the matter. @ Infosys has been instructed to look into it and @ Infosys has confirmed that they are resolving the issue on priority basis. It may be mentioned that for individual taxpayers, for whom tax audit is not applicable, the last date for filing Income Tax Return (ITR) for FY 2021-22 is July 31, 2022. If you have not yet filed your ITR, you can do so online by visiting the official website of the Income Tax Department, incometax.gov.in. It can be known that the method of filing ITR varies depending on the sources of income like your earned income and salary, business profit every year.

Also, to simplify the ITR filing process, you should have all the necessary documents on hand. Documents that are usually required are copy of PAN card, copy of Aadhaar card, bank statement / bank passbook, among others.
