Switzerland is adding a new flight between Zurich and Bristol in the UK as part of its winter 2022/23 schedule.
The Lufthansa Group-owned carrier says it will offer 93 destinations from Zurich and Geneva this winter, with the overall capacity reaching 80 percent of the airline’s 2019 level.
The Swiss Zurich-Bristol service will start from 4 February 2023 with one flight per week. The carrier will continue to operate the newly launched Summer 2022 flights from Zurich to Bologna, Nantes, Sophia and Vilnius during the winter season.
Additional frequencies will be added to short-distance destinations from Zurich, including Belgrade, Porto, Alicante, Barcelona and Malaga. Long-distance services will also be extended to Asian cities such as Bangkok, Singapore, Delhi and Mumbai next winter.
Switzerland will serve 25 European destinations from Geneva in the winter, including more flights to the Scandinavian cities of Stockholm, Gothenburg and Copenhagen. The new summer service in Brussels will continue this winter in collaboration with Sister Carrier Brussels Airlines.
Chief Commercial Officer Tamur Goudarji Pore said the airline was focused on “more stable” services for the winter.
“In Europe, in particular, we are offering an attractive choice of destinations for the cold season,” Pore added. “However, at the same time, we have been conservative in our planning and have reduced our flight program by as many frequencies as possible so that we can keep our schedules as stable as possible.”
The airline’s upcoming winter schedule will run from October 30 to March 26, 2023.
