Poetsch Named Interim Women’s Basketball Head Coach at Oregon Tech

Clemth Falls, oh. – Oregon Tech Athletic Director John Van Dyke Longtime men named basketball assistants Paul Poets Interim head coach of the women’s basketball program.

Poetsk replaces Scott Meredith, who recently resigned as head coach.

“We are grateful that Paul has stepped forward to lead our program this season. The team has a great nucleus that comes back with a quality recruiting class. As we begin the process of conducting a national search for a new head coach he will help make a seamless change.”

Poetsch has spent the last 13 seasons on the bench alongside head coach Danny Miles Justin ParnellHustlin ‘Owls assisted the 2012 NAIA Division II national championship team and was part of the 2019 squad that reached the national title game.

An All-Evergreen Conference selection as a player from Western Oregon, Poets has lived in the Klamath Basin for the past 38 years – including four seasons as head girls basketball coach at Mazama High, twice earning the Southern Oregon Conference Coach of the Year honor – and Klamath County. Has been working as an administrator in the school district for 24 years.

Poetsch and Lady Owls host the OIT Lithia Classic in November for the first weekend of the 2022-23 season.
