Meta-owned app working on viewing a list of past participants in groups

WhatsApp will roll out several updates for its users in the near future to provide a better interface. The Meta Proprietary App The ability to view a list of past participants in your group for future updates is in the works, reported WABetaInfo, the website that tracks WhatsApp’s latest updates.

The new update has been submitted through the TestFlight beta program, bringing the version up to 22.16.0.70. It was earlier reported that the app was working on the ability to silently leave groups without notifying group participants other than group administrators.

Now with the “Past Participants” feature all group members can see who has left the group The website also shared a screenshot of the feature A new section called “Search Past Participants” will be added where group members can search for names of people who have left the group in the last 60 days.

“All group members will be able to see who has left the group in the last 60 days by opening the new section that will be available directly within the group information. Hence, past participants will be removed from this list after 60 days.” WABetaInfo wrote. The feature is still in the development stage and its release date is not yet known.

WhatsApp has rolled out the ability to filter unread chats to some beta testers. With this feature, users can filter their chats to show only new messages. Notably, the “Unread Chat Filter” feature was also rolled out for some beta users last month. But it has been disabled in later updates.
