Ten European flight schools have teamed up to launch the first European network of independent helicopter academies. The founding members of the Leading Helicopter Academy of Europe (LHA) are the European Helicopter Center (Norway), Heli Austria Flight Academy, Helibravo (Portugal), Helicenter (Netherlands), Heli-Flight (Germany), Heli-Fl (ck (Germany) Czech Republic), Mountainflyers (Switzerland), Pole-Air (France), and Superior Air (Greece).
The LHA’s combined assets include 150 helicopters, 80 flight instructors and 22 bases providing more than 16,000 hours of annual training across Europe. More than 3,000 helicopter pilots have already been trained by LHA members, who provide training in all types of terrain and weather for a variety of ratings, roles and missions. All LHA members are EASA Accredited Training Agencies (ATOs) or recognized providers of advanced and specialized training services.
“Working together, we can now train across the board for all aspects of helicopter flight,” said Annette Haldorsen, LHA spokeswoman and CEO of the European Helicopter Center in Norway.
