Fresh meal maker raises $200 million

Ventura, Calif. – FreshRealm, a manufacturer and marketer of fresh foods sold nationwide at retail and direct-to-consumer, has closed on a $200 million financing round. According to the company, the funding will be used to expand the company’s reach and support innovation.

“We’ve built the most sophisticated platform for fresh food nationwide in partnership with retailers that represent nearly 10,000 retail locations nationwide and over one million DTC customers over the past year,” said Michael Lippold, founder and CEO. “As the retail fresh food segment continues to demonstrate compelling growth, this funding will allow FreshRealm to strengthen our existing end-to-end platform that supports advanced private label and branded food assortments and fresh food destinations.”

Specifically, the fund will be used to expand manufacturing facilities across the country, expand into club and convenience retail channels, improve operational efficiency and strengthen the company’s supply chain.

The company did not identify the investors behind the fundraising. In 2021, FreshRealm raised $32 million to support capacity expansion and innovation.
