Breakdown of updated COVID-19 metrics in Utah:
Vaccine doses given in the last week/Total doses given • 31,321 / 5,434,869.
Number of fully vaccinated Utahns • 2,056,096 – 63.3% of Utah’s total population. Another 992,032 Utahns received at least one booster shot — 30.5% of the population.
Cases reported last week • 1,919.
Average daily cases reported in last week • 274.
Deaths reported last week • 10.
Officials reported four deaths in Salt Lake County, including three men ages 65-84 and one woman age 85 or older.
A woman aged 25-44, as well as two men aged 45-64 and 65-84, were reported dead in Utah County.
Weber County reported the deaths of a man aged 25-44 and a woman aged 65-84.
A Cache County man, aged 65-84, was also reported dead.
Hospitalizations reported this week • As of Thursday, 133 Utahns had been hospitalized with COVID-19, 15 more than the previous week. There were 16 patients in intensive care on Thursday, one less than last Thursday.
Percentage of positive tests • Counting all test results, including repeated tests of the same person, 12.51% of tests conducted came back positive, compared to 12.61% this time last week.
When repeated tests on the same person are not counted, 16.05% of tests conducted gave positive results, down from 16.29% the previous week.
Total so far • 1,036,535 cases; 5,011 deaths; 38,461 hospitalizations.
